Tina the Postpartum Doula LLC

The Postpartum Doula is your trusted and professional Doula for navigating the beautiful, yet often challenging, transition into life with a newborn. My mission is to "mother the mother" and nurture the entire family, ensuring you feel confident, rested, and supported during your fourth trimester. As a trained and compassionate postpartum doula, I provide non-medical, evidence-based physical, emotional, and informational support in your home during the first few days, weeks, or months after your baby's arrival. My services are highly individualized, adapting each day to your family’s unique needs

What Tina the Postpartum Doula Offers:

  1. Emotional and Mental Wellness Support:
Non-Judgmental Listening and Encouragement: I provide a safe, empathetic space for you to process your birth experience, discuss the emotional ups and downs of new parenthood, and express any concerns without judgment.
Promoting Self-Care: I actively help you prioritize your rest, personal care, and healing, understanding that a nourished parent is better equipped to care for their baby.
Identifying Red Flags: I am trained to recognize early signs of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and can provide appropriate referrals to mental health professionals and support groups.
Partner and Sibling Support: I help partners understand their new role and support the birthing person, and assist older children in adjusting to the new family dynamic.
  2. Evidence-Based Informational Support:
Newborn Care Education: I offer practical guidance on basic newborn care, including diapering, bathing, comforting/soothing techniques (like the "5 S's"), understanding normal newborn behavior, and establishing gentle routines.
Infant Feeding Support: I provide support and resources for your chosen feeding method, including hands-on assistance with positioning and latch for breastfeeding, as well as education on bottle feeding and formula preparation.
Postpartum Recovery: I share evidence-based information on physical recovery from both vaginal and Cesarean births, including guidance on perineal care, incision healing, and proper nutrition for healing.
Connecting to Resources: I act as a resource hub, offering trusted referrals to local specialists like lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, pediatricians, and parenting classes.
  3. Practical and Physical Support:
Rest and Recovery Opportunities: I care for the baby so that parents can get much-needed sleep, shower, or simply have a quiet moment to themselves. This can include daytime or overnight support.
Nourishing Meal Preparation: I prepare light, healthy meals and snacks to ensure you are well-fed and hydrated, a crucial part of the healing process.
Light Household Tidy-Up: My goal is to ease your household burden, which includes things like tidying common areas, doing the baby's laundry, and washing dishes and pump parts.
Running Errands: I can assist with essential errands, allowing you to stay home and focus on resting and bonding. My ultimate goal is for your family to feel empowered and confident as you find your rhythm. By caring for you, I ensure you have the energy and clarity to enjoy this precious, fleeting time.
